Who we are

Spree is run by Davide Benini, who is responsible for your data. You can reach us at info@davidebenini.it.

What we store on our server

When you join a story with a code, the app creates a player on our server with:

• Your display name, the name you choose. It doesn't need to be your real name.
• An anonymous token that lets the app talk to the server. It isn't linked to your Apple ID, phone number, email or any account.
• Your story progress: which story you're playing, which steps you've reached and when, and, in group play, which group you're in.
• The type of device (iOS or Android), so we can fix platform-specific problems.

Like any website, our server also keeps short-lived technical logs (such as IP addresses and request times) to keep the service secure and working.

What stays on your phone

• Your location never leaves your device. The app uses GPS only on your phone, to tell when you reach a place in the story. We never receive or store your position.
• Photos and audio recordings stay on your device. Anything you capture with the camera or microphone during a story is saved only on your phone.
• Bluetooth is used only to find nearby players in group play. It doesn't send anything to our server.

What we don't do

We don't track you across apps or websites, show ads, use third-party analytics, or sell or share your data. Your data is used only to run the game.

How long we keep it

• When you finish a story, your player data is deleted.
• If you stop playing, your player data is deleted automatically after 30 days without activity.
• We keep anonymous play statistics (for example, how long a story took and how far players got) to improve the stories. They contain no name, token or anything else that identifies you.

How to delete your data

You can delete your data at any time:

• In a story, tap ✕ and choose Quit and delete my data.
• If you have a paused story, tap the trash button on the code scanner screen.
• Or email info@davidebenini.it with your display name and the story you played, and we'll delete it.

Deleting removes your player, token and progress from our server. Deleting the app removes everything stored on your phone.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct or delete your data, or complain to your local data protection authority. Write to info@davidebenini.it.

Children

Spree doesn't knowingly collect more than a display name from anyone. If you think a child has given us personal information in their display name, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update it on this page and change the date at the top.
